Tim McCunn has over 30 years of experience and is Partner of the Business Law Group at Perley-Robertson, Hill & McDougall. Mr. McCunn’s practice is focused on corporate/commercial and securities law with emphasis on mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance for the Life Science and Technology sectors. He has served as a director of several technology companies and acted as counsel to numerous independent committees. Mr. McCunn has been recognized repeatedly in the Canadian Legal Lexpert® Directory.
The Honourable Lawrence Cannon is the former Canadian Ambassador to France from 2012 to 2017. Prior to this appointment, Mr. Cannon was a member of the House of Commons and served as Minister of Foreign Affairs from 2008 to 2011, and as Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities from 2006 to 2008 in the Government of Canada. In 2011, he was appointed Chair and Senior Member of the Gowlings Government Affairs Group, and served on the Board of Directors of Oceanic Iron Ore Corp.
Seann Poli has an extensive and solid business background, successfully growing a number of mid and small sized companies in private capital markets. Mr. Poli is also a project funding specialist and facilitator, and his experience encompasses diverse industries and roles involving negotiations with key stakeholders, government offices, private investors, and senior level management. He has demonstrated his excellent leadership abilities in wealth management, due diligence, business development and strategies.
Peter’s extensive background in horticulture, produce and food manufacturing has been one of the driving forces behind LiveWell becoming a Cannabis and Hemp products company. His 25 year involvement with start-up companies domestically and internationally has primed the vision for LiveWell to lead the way in cannabis research and innovation on an international scale.
Hugh Notman is a managing director with CCC Investment Banking. Mr. Notman is a 35-year veteran of the financial services industry, initially working for RBC Dominion Securities, Canaccord Capital Corp., and Marleau Lemire. Subsequently, Mr. Notman worked for ID Biomedical Corp., a medical diagnostics and vaccine company (Glaxo Smithkline). Mr. Notman holds IDC.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors and sits on several for profit and non-profit boards.
Mr. Smith was elected to LiveWell’s Board in December 2018. He is currently the Chairman and CEO of Frontline Broadband Inc. Over his career, Mr. Smith has held the positions of CFO, CEO, director and Chairman. Mr. Smith was Chair of VIA Rail Canada’s Board of Directors from 2010 to 2014 after having joined the board in September 2006 and was President & CEO of Equity Financial Holdings Inc. (TSX: EQI), a Canadian financial services firm he co-founded whose principal subsidiary is an OSFI-regulated deposit-taking institution. He is a director of several companies and, before joining the private sector, served as Executive Assistant to the Prime Minister of Canada. Mr. Smith holds a Master of Business Administration from INSEAD (France), a Master of Arts in Public Administration from Carleton University, and undergraduate degrees (Accounting, Political Science) from the University of Ottawa.
